Fewer U.S. schools shutting down because of swine flu

The number of new school closings has jumped around at different dates in the past two months, but now seems on a downward trend.

WASHINGTON — As the USA enters traditional flu season, there's a tiny bit of good news for public health advocates: Over the past month or so, the number of schools that have been forced to close because of swine flu has dropped precipitously.
As of Thursday, new school closings fell to three.
